Reliance CDMA announced 2 new attractive long validity STVs

Reliance CDMA today announced the launch of their 2 new long validity products. First one is an all India 30 paise product priced at Rs.92 with a validity of 180 days. This will enable customers to call all local STD onnet and offnet including land line numbers at a competitive rate or 30 paisa/minute. All other tariffs are based on the base tariff plan rate of the customer.

Second product is STV 94 which will give 200 local + STD SMS per day with 1GB high speed data free per month for the next 6 months. This is an attractive product considering the existing competitor products.

SMS Ban removed with immediate effect

After reviewing the current situation, Home ministry of India have decided to remove the restriction on SMS and MMS. The information has passed to all telecom operators in India. So from now onwards customers can send unlimited SMS and MMS from their numbers.

On 17th of this month Govt. decided to Ban SMS and MMS with a limit of 5 per day for the next 15 days. Later on 24th the Govt have reviewed the matter and decided to give a relaxation of 20 SMS

BSNL introduces 4 new Tariff Cutters



 

National Telecom operator BSNL today announced the launch of its new tariff cutters in Rajasthan Circle. This will enable Rajasthani BSNL customers to get connected to both on net and off net with a much competitive rates.

 

 



 

The details of the plans are as follows:

STV 32 : All local calls to any networks at 1p/2sec and STD calls at 2p/3sec.This pack will give a validity of 30 days.

Govt. announced relaxation to 5 SMS / Day to 20 SMS / Day

 

     Government has announced a relaxation on this restriction. Now customers can send up to 20 SMS per day instead of 5.

In the coming days we can expect more relaxation or even full withdrawal of this restriction, if the issues become under control. As declared earlier to TRAI, 28th and 29th is a SMS black out day (all the SMS will be charged at normal rate) for most of the Operators in Kerala because of Onam festival. As per the previous restriction of 5 SMS per day, operators expected a 5% drop in their revenues for the month of August, since SMS is a major contributor to revenue during festival seasons. Anyway with the relaxation, it will give some relaxation to the drop but continues to be a pain since the expected SMS count per customer during festival season is much more than this.

MTS Announced Local unlimited calling and Couple of other products as ONAM Gift

     MTS Kerala announced unlimited calling offer in Kerala as part of their Onam offer.

This offer is opened only to postpaid customers and priced at Rs.499 per month. There is no fair usage policy applicable to this plan and customers can talk unlimitedly in this Onam season without even think about stinging mobile bills. Also as part of this offer customers can do all STD calling at 40 paisa per minute.

More than 5 SMS / MMS is banned across the country till 31st Aug

    With effect from 17th Aug till 31st Aug, all telecom operators banned more than 5 SMS / MMS per day as per the new regulation by DOT. This is to prevent spreading rumors about north indian peoples, which were spreading through SMS / different social networks.

     Tata Docomo today announced the launch of its unlimited local calling offer for their prospective prepay customers. This offer is applicable across India wherever Docomo has GSM license.       MTS Today has announced the launch of two unlimited plans in Gujarat Circle. One is Onnet unlimited 71 pack which will give unlimited MTS to MTS calling within Gujarat Circle (Fair Usage policy of 2000 minutes per month is applicable). This product is priced at Rs.71 with a validity of 3 months. Call rates post free minutes will be charged as per the base rate plan of the customer. The effective calling rate as per this plan would be 3paisa / minute.
