More than 5 SMS / MMS is banned across the country till 31st Aug

With effect from 17th Aug till 31st Aug, all telecom operators banned more than 5 SMS / MMS per day as per the new regulation by DOT. This is to prevent spreading rumors about north indian peoples, which were spreading through SMS / different social networks.

This restriction made most of the customers in great difficulty especially during this festival season. They couldn't able to send wishes each other. Ramzan is just over and Onam is on the verge. On the other side, all operators have planned huge SMS revenue hipe during this festival season and they have declared black out days on Onam, but they will not get this impact as customers cannot able to send more than 5 SMS. This will impact their overall revenues. But due to this they are expecting some marginal growth in their voice calls.

Govt. can able to stop SMS scandals through this restriction but Social network is still active and these kinds of news spreads can happen through that also. Same way SMS web sites like Way2sms and Site2sms and other platform based applications like BBM and whatsapp are also active.
