Airtel Jodi Pack : Talk to your Jodi for the lowest tariff

     With Bharti Airtel today announced the launch of Jodi pack, it has again kick started the era of Jodi pack which allows customers to talk to their jodi for the lowest tariff available. It is available in two different dominations as mentioned in the table, that is FRC 53 with inbuilt 46 TT and 205 with 200 TT with all additional benefits as mentioned in the table.

MTS Mblaze and Reliance Netsetter have reduced Dongle prises

MTS netsetter brand Mblaze and Reliance Netsetter have slashed their device prices almost 33% to attract more customers in to their network.

This move is under the view that among the top 3 operators, Airtel Voda and Idea - one or two operators had to stop their customer acquistion in many circles because of the latest Supreme Court verdict on 3G spectrum sharing of these operators. So Reliance and MTS believes that lowest entry cost will attract more customers to their network. TATA docomo also in a move to reduce their device price and enhance customer offers in many of their circles they are operational in 3G & photon plus.

 

 

Idea cellular increased Onnet and Local call rates

      By the end of last week Idea cellular, the emerging operator in GSM segment has increased its onnet (idea to idea) and all other local call rates in various STVs (special tariff vouchers)

Henceforth all Idea to Idea call rates in their STVs will be charged at 20paise per minute instead of 10 paise. It will be applicable to their Onnet STVs - 38, 69 which is giving a validity of 14 and 30 days respectively. But in order to satisfy the need of customers, idea has introduced a new pack which is giving idea to idea calls at 10 paise per minute priced at Rs.165, all other local calls will be charged at 30 paise per minute with a validity of 30 days.

BSNL is getting major share on MNP

  
     As per the MNP broadcast report for the month of April for Kerala, BSNL is the highest gainer in MNP, as they dominate 25% of Portin happed from other operators and their portout percentage is as low as 7% resulting the highest net customer gain of 18%. BSNL is getting portins from all major operators but the majority contributed by Idea cellular (40%) though idea is known as the most customer preferred brand in Kerala.

COAI wants Tata tele's 19 liceses cancelled

      Ever since supreme court had cancelled licenses awarded to operators since 10th Jan 2008, the COAI (the association driven by major operators Airtel, Vodafone and Idea) is trying to include 19 licenses of TATA Tele also along with the 122 licenses got cancelled. On this matter, there is a cold war between COAI and Tata Tele.

      Idea cellular introduced a paper coupon prices at Rs.29 which is bundled with 5 differ offers, and customer can select his choice of offer based on the dialing code he is using.

MTS has come up with GSM + CDMA dual phone to attract GSM customers

    MTS India ltd, the one and only operator who is providing purely CDMA voice and data operations has come up with a new idea to impress the major chunk of GSM customers in India. The phone priced at Rs.1699 has got all major benefits including FM radio, MP4 support, 1.3 MP camera and 600 rupees voice and SMS benefits from MTS.

Airtel 60 and 110 Full Talk Time offer

     Bharti Airtel has come up with couple of area segmented full talktime offer to impress its customers. One side operators are increasing tariffs and other side they are giving full talk time offers to curb own customers porting out to other operators.

In Kerala circle wide, Airtel is operating 110 full talk time offer open to all customers is part of this initiative. In rural areas they are even operating 60 full talk time offer, as of now it is open in both Palakkad and Alappuzha districts and it may be extended to couple of other districts also.

SC asks Voda and Idea to stop acquiring fresh customers in 3G circles where they don't have 3G license

Followed by Airtel, SC asked Vodafone and Idea also to stop activating fresh 3G connection where they do not have 3G license.

These 3 operators (Airtel, Idea and Voda) were mutually sharing the spectrum in many of the circles. So that they all can acquire 3G customers in all circles evenif they donot own spectrum in all circles. DOT suddenly realised that this is against the breach and asked 3 of them to stop 3G services wherever they do not hold license.

But 3 of them approached HC and obtained a stay order for this order from DOT. But now with the order from SC, operators doesn't have any options left other than to stop operations in the circles where they do not own licenses.

Airtel 3G cannot activate new customers in 7 circles till further Notice

As per the supreme court order Airtel 3G cannot acquire fresh customers till the final order from the court.

As per the latest order from DOT, Airtel, Idea and Vodafone have been asked to stop 3G services from circles wherever they donot have 3G licences and have been giving services through ICR (Intra circle roaming - Sharing the service from other operator who got license in one particular circle)

As per this verdict Airtel has to stop acquiring customers from Haryana, Kolkata, Uttar Pradesh East, Maharashtra and Goa, Gujarat, Kerala and Madhya Pradesh & Chattigarh with immediate effect.

Airtel, Idea and Voda increase STD Tariffs

30 paise per minute STD calling is history!!! as the so called Tridents (Airtel, Idea and Voda) have decided to increse it to 35 paisa per minute from the existing 30 paisa.
