Telecom Companies : Reveneue and Average Revenue per Customer

I am sure many of you are hearing this first time would be surprised after seeing the table below. It talks about the average revenue telecom operators earning from our small Kerala state. It total more than 500 Crores rupees which is a figure that cannot even imagine by any of the FMCG or same stream businesses. It is not all, the revenue growth in this sector is the amazing one..it is a 5% growth month on month..that means 50-60% growth on an average year. Imagine what would be the revenues after 5 years. And the intresting part is, each one of us living in Kerala are contributing more than 200 rupees to this, that means a 5 member family is contributing 800-1000 rupees per month, and that is more than what we spend for Electricity, Milk, water bills, petrol for two wheeler for a month.(imagine all 5 are using mobile phones -now a days we cannot find a person without mobile phones - even kids are also using mobile phones - youngsters, both guys and gals are always on mobile phone - it is a new practice in kochi, guys are first putting there mobile inside the helmet while they are travelling, helmet is mandatory as per statutory rules and i don't know what is the rules behind mobile phones going inside - for gals while walking, one hand is for holding their umbrellas and the other one is for holding mobile phones, sometimes this umbrellas is useful for hiding their smily face from known people coming across.  Now a days people can not even imagine a day without mobile)

Again coming back to our point Idea is the highest contributor to this revenue followed by Vodafone and Airtel. All other operators except BSNL is far behind them.

Now even with the launch of 3G and other high speed data products, and these products are getting penetrated fastly, experts are saying that this revenue growth is going to be far higher than the expectations. This is because of the revenue from 3G & Data products that are much higher than the mobile phones voice call revenues. (Those who are using 3G can easily understand this - while we are spending 150 or 200 rupees for our mobile recharges, what we are spending for 3G is not less than 500 rupees per month, the one who are intrested in movie downloads and online games are spening more than 1000 rupees.)
