Ravi Sharma, CEO of Gujarat based Adani Power, has resigned from the company. Former South Asia chief of Alcatel-Lucent will leave the company after two years of working at the helm. June 30th will be his last day in the office.
Speculations are rife that he may join IT/Telecom sector.
Sharma was responsible for the success of Alcatel in India. Before his joining the company as its chief, Alcatel was considered to be a small company. Later Alcatel and Lucent merged and he became South Asia head of the combined entity.
Ravi Sharma also had a short stint at Videocon owned Datacom and his joining had provided a
very significant head start to the new entrant in setting up the operations. Ravi Sharma eventually exited Datacom due to prolonged management control, disputes between the Nahata Group and The Dhoots of Videocon.
Ravi Sharma’s past stints include companies such as British Telecom and the UB group.
He was one of the top paid CEOs not only in telecom sector but across all the industries.
